I used bleached flour for this cake. Bleached flour usually has a lower protein content, which creates a more tender crumb...hence it is good for cakes!

We are sisters through and through. I bought this meal planner and we have been planning our meals on it for the past month or so. It makes grocery shopping and weekday evenings so much easier. We also include the activity we're doing that evening so we remember if we have time to make a complete dinner that night or if it's salad and trader joe's pizza night!

My Aunt Ethel and Uncle Dudley lived in Cleveland and she taught in their toughest inner city high schools for years. My Uncle Dudley played Santa for all our children's Christmas parties in the 50's. They never had children of their own and I think she would be thrilled to know this bit of her legacy was still being passed on. Thanks for sharing, Elena.
